Never was a truer word spoken than by the person who said that Florence is a joy to visit anytime of year, as this rings true to my own heart. If there is one city in the world that makes my heart sing with joy it is dear Firenze, with its renaissance charm and wealth of culture.
I could spend hours in the museums and churches at anytime of the year, revisiting my favourite paintings and sculptures that I have visited so many times. Whatever time of the year, there is always something going on in this city which makes it a pleasure to visit.
Apart from the culture and the stunning architecture which makes me draw breath every time I pass the Duomo, there is also the friendliness of the people which draws me back time and time again. Less rushed than the people from Rome and Milan, you can spend many an hour in the cafes chatting with local people.
The food too is incredible, as it is in much of Italy, with its own regional flavours and variations but rooted in the healthy fresh salads and olive oil.
Whatever time of year you decide to visit Florence, it has something going for it – you should try visiting more than once to compare as once is never enough!
