If there is one thing I love to do on holiday or a business trip, it is to watch people. Beautiful people, ugly people, locals and tourists, men and women, I just love to watch them and imagine what is going on in their lives and whether they are happy.
When you are next roaming around Rome on your vacation, you should try it as you will be surprised at how much fun it is. It costs absolutely nothing and you can spend hours wondering what goes on in their mind and their lives.
Why are the handsome couple arguing? How on earth did that ugly man manage to pull that gorgeous young lady? What on earth made that woman wear those skin tight leopard print trousers and high heels?
Watch the workmen and the business people, the street cleaners and the executives. They may look very different but at heart they are the same people with hopes and dreams and worries about the future.
Put yourself into the mind of these people and you will escape for a few minutes. Buy a coffee and sit on a pavement cafe and just watch them go by. Although cultures are very different, we all share many of the same characteristics and you will hopefully understand more of human nature than when you started.
